The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced further drops in fuel prices in the latest cycle (April-May) driven by the strengthening Shilling against the Dollar.

A litre of petrol will now retail at Sh193.84 from last cycle’s Sh199.15. A litre of diesel is now priced at Sh180.38 down from Sh190.38. Kerosene on its part dropped to Sh170.06 from Sh188.74. This represents a drop of Sh5.31, Sh10 and Sh18.68 respectively.
According to EPRA, the strengthening of the Kenyan Shilling against the US Dollar contributed to the drop in prices, even as the price of crude oil in the international market rose from an average of $77 to $79.
This should come as a relief to Kenyans who are currently battling tough economic times.
