Carnversations has been blessing us with beautiful automotive content on YouTube for quite a while now. The videos they produced were deeply researched, relevant and presented in a unique way that made them a hit for auto enthusiasts in Kenya and beyond. It is therefore not surprising that they were voted the best automotive YouTube channel in Kenya on a poll we ran in December last year.
The brand was started and operated by two people: Erick Wokabi and Ibrahim Toloi. Erick was the guy in front of the camera and Ibrahim the guy behind the camera
For sometime, however, we noticed the absence of Erick on their videos. This fueled speculation of a breakup of the iconic duo leading Ibrahim to release a video clarifying on what is happening. In the video, he confirmed Erick has indeed walked away from Carnversations and wanted to dissolve the brand. The reasons why he chose to walk away were not divulged, being labelled only as ‘personal issues’.
According to Ibrahim, the move caught him unawares as there were no indications of Erick’s intentions to walk away. He first asked for sometime off to deal with personal issues. After sometime, Ibrahim reached out to inquire when he will be returning. After several emails, Erick responded with the bombshell of having walked away from Carnversations and requesting they make it official by dissolving the company.
