12 Moi University students on an academic trip to Mombasa were slightly injured when their bus was involved in an accident at Kimende town in Lari subcounty along the Naivasha-Nairobi Highway.
Confirming the accident, Lari subcounty deputy police commander Francis Njomo said the injured students were rushed to Orthodox Hospital in Kimende town for treatment.

The bus was ferrying 50 third-year and fourth-year Kiswahili students to Mombasa when the driver lost control of the bus and landed in a ditch.
Njomo said they have already launched investigations to establish what caused the driver to lose control of the bus. According to an eye witness account though, the driver was trying to get out of the way of another car being driven carelessly.
The wreckage of the bus was towed to Lari police station.
